PRIVACY POLICY

The London Art Walk Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) sets out how and why we collect, store, use and share personal information collected by or provided to us in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018. It also explains your rights in relation to your personal data and how to contact us or the relevant data protection regulators in the event you have a complaint.

 

This policy applies to personal information we obtain through a variety of channels including the London Art Walk website (“Website”) and online communications. 

 

Data Controller. To exercise your rights you can contact us through the following channels. Once we receive your request, we will process it within five (5) business days and, if necessary, we will get in touch with you.

 

 

Personal Data collected. We may collect the following information via email, social media, and/or during the creation of accounts on our Website:

 

  • Name 
  • Contact information including email, phone number, country, city and postcode.
  • Where necessary and legally permitted, we may also collect other personal information such as access and dietary requirements.

 

Uses of Personal Data. Under our legitimate business interest and with your prior consent, we will only process your personal data for the following purposes:

 

  • Periodically sending newsletters and information about new services, art blogs, tours and art exhibitions in London and abroad.
  • Processing your tour bookings and, if required, confirming any preferences such as access requirements. We will require at least one method of contact to communicate with you to confirm or inform you of any changes or cancellations.
  • Responding to your inquiries and providing customer support.

 

Collection of Personal Data. We may collect your personal data under the following circumstances:

 

  • When you attend our art tours, events or contact us through our social media channels.
  • When we provide you art advisory services.
  • When you subscribe to our mailing lists, allowing us to send you event notifications, updates and other relevant information.

 

If you decide not to receive further communications about our services and other relevant information related to the arts, you can write to our contact email, and you will be removed from our database.

 

Third parties who may access Personal Data. We will not send or distribute any personal information collected to third parties unless we have your explicit permission or are legally required to do so by law or any regulatory authority.

However, to process payments, we may use PayPal, a reputable third-party payment provider that complies with stringent data protection and security standards, ensuring the confidential processing of personal information. As your payment information is processed directly by this organisation, London Art Walk does not collect or process any payment information.

 

Your rights about your Personal Data. You have the following rights in relation to the personal information we process about you:

  • The right to withdraw consent: If you have provided us with a consent to use your personal data you have a right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawing consent will not affect the lawfulness of our use of your personal data in reliance on that consent before it was withdrawn.

  • Complaint: you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”) if you believe we are processing personal data that infringes UK regulations. If you are located outside of the UK, you may also have the right to make a complaint to the relevant authority in your jurisdiction.

 

Security measures. We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, London Art Walk implements the necessary technical, human, and administrative measures and procedures to safeguard your personal data from loss, damage, tampering or fraudulent consultation, and secure the information we collect. We regularly review our policies, processes, and procedures to ensure they are compliant with regulations.

 

All our collaborators and data processors who have access to and are associated with the processing of your personal information are obliged to safeguard the personal data we hold and comply with this policy and all relevant regulations. When we appoint new third parties to act as data processors on our behalf, we will ensure their compliance with the applicable regulations.

 

Please be aware that communications over the internet, such as emails, are not secure unless they have been encrypted and may route through several countries before being delivered. Therefore, London Art Walk cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised access or loss of personal information that is beyond its control.

 

Retention of Personal Data. Data will only be processed in accordance with the purpose or purposes for which it was originally collected and will only be kept for the time that is reasonable and necessary. After the relevant retention period ends, we will securely delete or anonymise your personal data.

 

Sensitive Data. Generally, London Art Walk will not collect or process sensitive personal data. However, we may collect sensitive data for specific purposes, such as access requirements in exceptional cases where tours are located outside London. In all instances, London Art Walk will not process sensitive personal data without your explicit consent.

 

Complaint process. If you want to exercise your rights mentioned above or have concerns about how we are handling your personal information, you can make a request verbally or in writing. We will respond to your request within thirty (30) days. If you feel that London Art Walk’s response has been inadequate, you can raise your concerns with the ICO, the UK’s data protection authority. Data breach. London Art Walk ensures that sufficient policies, processes, and procedures are in place to detect, report, and investigate a personal data breach. However, if a breach is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of individuals, we will notify the ICO and, if required, the affected individuals or organisations.

 

Links to other websites. Our Website may contain links to other websites of interest to art market participants, collectors, and art enthusiasts. However, please note that we do not have any control over these external websites. Therefore, we are not responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide while visiting such sites, which are not governed by this Privacy Policy.

 

International transfer of Personal Data. Currently, there are no circumstances under which London Art Walk will transfer your data outside the UK.

 

Modifications to the Privacy Policy. From time to time we may update or change the Privacy Policy. We will always state the date on which they were last amended or updated.
